Game 'spirited' to MBPJ Stadium

THE match between The Classic All Blacks and the Rest of the World XV on June 12 has been moved from Paroi Stadium, Negri Sembilan, to MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya.
It will also be renamed The Spirit of Rugby Challenge instead of the Spirit of Rugby Cup following the withdrawal of the previous licence holders.
Commenting on the development of this event, Jon Phelps, the managing director of Carinat, the Hong Kong-based rights holders of the Spirit of Rugby Festival, said: "We are delighted that we are still able to stage this match which has only been made possible by a small group of business people who were determined that it should not be staged elsewhere.
"We hope the Malaysian rugby community will come and watch what promises to be a great spectacle, with the chance to get up close and personal with some of the best rugby players in the world."
The Classic All Blacks will be captained by legendary flyhalf, Andrew Mehrtens, who will be joined by All Black legends Byron Kelleher, Carlos Spencer, Greg Somerville, Reuben Thorne, Troy Flavell and Jerry Collins.
The match between Malaysia's champion club, Negeri Sembilan Wanderers and Hong Kong club champions, Hong Kong Football Club, will be the curtain raiser (3pm). The main event is at 5.15pm.
Tickets, priced at RM280 for grandstand reserve seating, RM250 for grandstand and RM50 for covered main stand, will go on sale tomorrow through ticket agent AXCESS or call 03-77115000.
