CONFIDENT: Under-20 team's success in Johor Baru raises hopes of qualifying for Brazil 2016
MALAYSIA'S bid to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil looks on track with the Under-20 rugby side's successful defence of their Asian Under-20 Sevens title in Johor Baru recently.
National Under-20 coach Saizul Hafifi Mohd Noor, who was assistant to Wan Ibrahim Wan Chik last year, said the team showed maturity at the tournament this year despite the squad featuring mostly new players.

MALAYSIA'S Under-20 side proved they are no-flash-in-the-pan by successfully defending their Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) Asian Under-20 Sevens title in Johor Baru yesterday.
The hosts edged Hong Kong 26-22 in a repeat of last year's final, thanks to tries from Zulkifli Azmi, Ameer Nasrun, Anwarul Hafiz and Faris Salim with Nazreen Fitri Nasruddin converting three kicks. All the tries were scored in the first half.

Johor Bahru: Malaysia is ready to defend their title in the upcoming ARFU Asia Junior 7’s Under 20 Rugby Tournament during the Johor Rugby Carnival 2012 (JRC2012). The prestigious rugby tournament will be held from 21st-24th June 2012 at the Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru, Johor.There will be 10 international teams including Japan, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia will be participating in the ARFU Asia Junior 7’s Under 20 Rugby Tournament.
